Media eats up free pizza for
the unemployed...

Pie-Fection, a new pizza restaurant looking to make an impact in the Orlando market, turned to Julison Communications to deliver a creative idea that would help set them apart from the more than 1,200 restaurants in the local area. Julison Communications created and planned an event that reached a wide-range of potential customers through a variety of media channels. Pie-Fection hosted a "Free Pizza for the Unemployed" event, in which anyone out of a job would receive a free medium pizza during a pre-determined time period.

In addition, Pie-Fection partnered with a local employment agency to provide on-site resume tips and other services for job seekers. The social media campaign generated significant buzz and a significant number of people "liked" the Pie-Fection Facebook page. Media coverage was substantial, with the event generating 42 stories from all five Orlando TV affiliates and print coverage in the area.

Additionally, the story was picked up by the Drudge Report, one of the most viewed websites in the world, and went viral, resulting in millions of impressions nationally. Pie-Fection gave hundreds of free pizzas and generated significant local and national media attention, which gave them the jumpstart their brand needed in a crowded restaurant market.
